π Conroe Launch
Wake at 5:30 and have the Tesla moving by 6. Depart at 95β100% with breakfast packed and the private cottage address in navigation.
One electric chariot. Two grown-up drivers. A cottage near Fisher Mountain. And one legendary young rockhound headed for Arkansas quartz country.
MISSION DATE: JULY 30βAUGUST 2, 2026 β¦New mission plan: depart Conroe at 6:00 AM Friday. This is a more comfortable start and should align naturally with the 3 PM cottage check-in. Plan for roughly 7Β½β9 hours including live-routed charging, restroom breaks, traffic, and rural roads.
Wake at 5:30 and have the Tesla moving by 6. Depart at 95β100% with breakfast packed and the private cottage address in navigation.
Follow the car's live choice. Restroom, breakfast, and first driver handoff.
Charge for the rural Arkansas leg, eat an early lunch, stretch, and switch drivers.
Head to the cottage when check-in opens. If early, use the short buffer for the Rock Shop or groceries.
Road snacks, charger stretches, the Ouachitas getting hillier, then the cottage reveal. Evening mission: organize tools and choose tomorrow's lucky rock bag.
Rock Shop permit, waiver, mountain drive, safety talk, then Avi's full quartz day at the Ocus Stanley Claim. Everything found in the public dig may be kept.
Pack the quartz collection, photograph the cottage, check out before 10 AM, then make one daylight return stop if everyone has energy.
Protein, water, sunscreen, and a weather check. Call ahead if heavy rain may make the road impassable.
Closed-toe boots, safety glasses, gloves, long pants, hat, buckets, and hand tools. No power tools.
Navigate to 11 Logan Gap Road. Sign the waiver and buy the public-dig permit before driving up the mountain. Shop opens at 8; public digging begins at 9.
The official FAQ estimates 10β15 minutes from the shop to the dig. Park near the digging area, keep the car accessible, and follow staff directions.
July is hot and humid. Cool down early. Thunder means leave exposed ground immediately.
Compare crystal faces, clarity, phantoms, matrix, and damage. The public dig's substantial collectible mineral is clear quartzβnot a fossil site.
Choose the day's Story Crystal, photograph it before cleaning, and pack each special specimen separately.

Fisher Mountain's public dig is a clear-quartz experience, not a fossil-collecting site. The generated illustration is celebratory story art, not a literal depiction of the mine, cottage, crystal size, or a real child. Always follow staff, property, and weather rules.
